Common reasons a REScheck gets rejected

Most REScheck rejections come down to a small set of recurring problems. Knowing which one applies tells us exactly what to rebuild before resubmitting.

• Wrong code edition selected. Running the report against an IECC edition your jurisdiction doesn't currently enforce is an immediate reviewer flag, and edition years vary by state and even by adoption date within a state.
• Wrong climate zone. Climate zone drives every U-factor and R-value target in the calculation; a zone that doesn't match the jobsite's county produces a compliance result the reviewer can't accept.
• U-factors not matching the window schedule. If the REScheck lists U-factor and SHGC values that don't match the window schedule on your plans, that's a straightforward side-by-side mismatch a reviewer will catch.
• Missing supporting documents. Some jurisdictions expect the REScheck certificate paired with an inspection checklist or specific envelope detail; a submittal missing what the reviewer expects gets kicked back regardless of how correct the underlying numbers are.
