Travis Smith is an ICC-Certified Residential Plans Examiner and Residential Energy Inspector / Plans Examiner with years of residential general contracting experience.
Reports are calculated in ACCA-approved software using inputs extracted from your plan set rather than estimated from square footage, and every input is traced to the sheet it came from so the reviewer at your building department can verify it.
The Plans Examiner is residential only: new construction, additions, ADUs, and HVAC change-outs. Commercial projects require COMcheck and typically a licensed engineer's calculation; we don't prepare those.
One examiner does the work today, so capacity is finite and we treat it that way: we confirm the timeline with you before you pay, and we do not take a project we cannot deliver on the date you need. As volume grows, additional examiners are trained to the same process before they touch a report.
Washington State projects: the Washington State Energy Code runs its own credit system instead of the IECC envelope path, and Travis built wsec.ai for it. Manual J is still prepared here for Washington jobs.
